The lobby of the hotel resembled a beautiful garden. Larger than life arrangements of oriental lilies, pink carnations and red roses filled the room with cheer, while the central air conditioning added a cool crispness – just like a gorgeous morning in spring.
The doorman held open the door, and I expected a blast of warm air, but was pleasantly surprised by a wave of freshness instead. There she stood in the doorway, in a pretty two-toned peach and pink organza silk saree. As she surveyed her surroundings, I took a moment to admire the contrasting green raw silk border and the matching embroidery detailing on the body.
She was a picture of perfection, blending in with the lovely flowers in the room – almost like a princess looking out at her subjects. Our glances met, and she smiled knowingly, as though she could read my mind.
